The Woman who serves and supports the society is now in need of support.
"A few months back my mother was diagnosed with lung, liver and blood infections. She just started her entrepreneur journey at the age of 65 years and became a role model for many of us.
It was just before the first wave of Covid-19, I lost my job, and with the pandemic looming, I was worried and tense. It was then my mother came up with the idea of starting a food business. We didn't have much money at that time, but whatever savings we have we started our food business as ‘Cloud Kitchen’ with my mother as head chef.
The response to our Bengali Food was great and soon we started getting many orders a day via Zomato, Swiggy and Direct locally. In less than a year we opened our café in Gurugram, ‘Bengali Love Café’ and became a team of 40 women from 3 people. My mother believes in women empowerment, so we became a café run and managed by women.
During the devastating waves of Covid-19, when lots of people were struggling for their meals, my mother distributed free meals to the needy and also managed to keep her startup decently profitable, maybe because she serves people with heart and soul. Not only this, but when most of the retailers were selling things at very high prices, she bought the material wholesale and sold it to people at a lower price.
A few months back, my mother had pain in her lungs while breathing, she felt fatigued in her day-to-day activities. Restlessness surrounds her, we got her tests done and she was diagnosed with lung infections, which spread through her lungs speedily and now are spreading to the rest of her body.
She is hospitalized and in ICU, and the woman who serves and supports society is now in need of support. I spent all our savings and even borrowed money but bills are piling up. Further treatment will cost Rs. 5 lakh, which I am unable to arrange, hence I request all to help and support in raising this fund for my mother."
