Because, I identified my calling over time.
“I did my first interview with Virat Kohli, I was in college then. We tried to reach out to two players from the Delhi Cricket team, but they backed out and sent two junior players instead, stating that the players will be big in future. We did that interview half-heartedly, and then after a few years when the Indian team won the under-19 world cup, I recognized that he was the same guy – ‘Virat Kohli’. We shared that interview on social media, and it got viral all over.
Even at the time of the above incident, I was not sure that this would be my career; I was born and raised in Delhi. My parents want me to become a doctor but I certainly knew that was not my cup of tea. I decided to do journalism and was fortunate that my parents supported me in my decision. I did journalism from Bhartiya Vidhya Bhawan, Delhi.
I joined Star News during campus placement. The first time I appeared on screen was in the program ‘24 Ghante 24 Reporter’, and my first report was on tea. After working with them for close to 6.5 years, I joined TV Today Network, where I work in the programming department. I again joined back ABP News (formally Star News), and during my second inning I also started working on the digital platform, one of my programs ‘Bollywood Kisse’ was widely appreciated by viewers.
When the pandemic hit, I was Covid Positive during the first wave, during isolation I made ‘Corona Diaries’ where I shared my personal experience of coping with the Coronavirus and its symptoms. I thought if this small effort of mine can help someone and to my surprise the response was outstanding.
Currently, I am looking after Entertainment at ABP Live and Entertainment Live which is a digital platform of ABP Network. Entertainment live is my biggest project to date. Our star interviews and movie reviews are getting overwhelming responses from the audience.
Now, if I look back at my journey from that half-heartedly done college interview to Entertainment Live, I can say that - Whatever I am today, is because I identified my calling over time.”
